General Information

Quantum computation, quantum communication, and quantum cryptography are subfields of quantum information processing, which is a new interdisciplinary field of information science and quantum mechanics. TQC 2012 focuses on theoretical aspects of the subfields. The objective of the workshop is to bring together researchers in the subfields so that they can interact with each other and share problems and recent discoveries. The workshop will be held from May 17 to May 19, 2012. It will consist of invited talks, contributed talks and a poster session.

As for previous TQC conferences, a post-conference proceedings volume will be published in Springer's Lecture Notes in Computer Science to which selected speakers will be invited to contribute.

Date: May 17 (Thur.) - May 19 (Sat.), 2012
Place: Koshiba Hall, The University of Tokyo, Tokyo, Japan

PDF version of Call for Papers is available here.

Procedure for making the post-proceedings

Please send the electronic files and information of your final paper to tqc2012@gmail.com by the end of June. The necessary files and information are written at "Checklist of items to be sent to the volume editor" on the page of Information for LNCS Authors . The volume editors will submit them to Springer after checking the documents. The volume will be published within a few month after the submission.

Banquet will held at 18:30, on Friday 18th (the second day) at Capo Pellicano, on the 13th floor, Faculty of Medicine Experimental Research Building. [Banquet]

Rump session

We will have a rump session on the 18th during the poster session. Anyone who wants to present in the ramp session is requested to sign up at the conference reception desk by 17:00 on the 17th May (the first day of the conference). A presentation at the rump session should be within 2-10 min.

Notification and submission of extended abstract

All submitted manuscripts will be reviewed by the Program Committee, and notification of acceptance or rejection will be made on March 5, 2012.

Authors of accepted papers for oral presentations or a poster session should prepare a short abstract (at most two pages on A4- or Letter-size paper using at least 11-point fonts) to be included in the book of conference abstracts.

  • The abstract format is the same as the format for poster submission, so please use the same style files. Abstracts should be sent by May 1 (23:59 JST), 2012 in PDF format to tqc2012@gmail.com .
  • The PDF file should be named "TQC012abstract_talk_(presentation number).pdf" for a talk or "TQC012abstract_poster_(presentation number).pdf" for a poster, and the subject of the email should be the same as the file name..
